Our History

Dilly Daydream was started back in late 2007 when we couldn’t find a pretty, good quality shower cap as a gift. Those that were available were made of cheap plastic, were tightly fitting or were just plain gimmicky. We ended up having a go at making our own. And with that small insight and inspiration, Dilly Daydream was born.

All our products are lovingly made in the UK.

 

FAQs

Are the shower caps waterproof?

The question we are most often asked is whether our shower caps are waterproof. And the answer is, of course, yes. But we wanted to create something so much more special than just a shower cap that keeps your hair dry. Which is why all our caps are lined with a very soft, lightweight pvc fabric making them comfortable to wear, and finished with a choice of beautiful and indulgent fabrics making them a joy to the eye.  

They are made to a generous size so that they don't leave unsightly elastic marks on your forehead and feature the Dilly Daydream signature frill to protect your face from the drying effects of water whilst in the shower; and of course will keep your hair bone dry. 

Washing and care Instructions

The outer layer fabrics used to complete each hat are all washable, and in fact, we recommend you give your hat a gentle hand wash from time to time to remove watermarks, increase its lifespan, and keep it looking and feeling fresh from the box!  The cotton shower caps can also be washed in a machine at 30 degrees.  We would also recommend that you give your shower cap a quick rinse after each use and hang it up to dry immediately.

Bespoke and personalised

We also produce bespoke shower caps with a variety of different linings for those customers wanting to wear them for other purposes and not just in the shower.  To date, we have made soft cotton lined caps for customers undergoing chemotherapy, night caps for those wanting to preserve their blow dry and towel lined caps for use in a sauna. 

We are also able to embroider on to many of the items, to add that personal touch.  If there is something particular you are after, please do drop us a line and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements.

Payment

If you wish to pay in any currency other than £ sterling (GBP), please select the PayPal option.   Please note that you do not need a PayPal account to use this service – simply select the “Pay with a Debit or Credit Card” option below the login button. 

You are of course welcome to pay with your Debit or Credit Card via Realex, but the money will be debited from your account in £ sterling (GBP).

Customer Service

Our philosophy is to make sure your shopping experience with Dilly Daydream is a happy one, and so we strive to ensure our customer service is second to none and our products are no less than perfect. However……..

Returns

If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your order, you may return any item, for a full refund (excl. P&P) within 14 days of purchase. You must notify us within 7 days of receiving your order if you intend to do this. You will need to return the item at your own expense, securely packaged and in mint condition.  

Cancellation

You may for a short period be able to cancel an order placed; please use the Contact Us page to cancel your order.  However, if you have already received an email confirming dispatch of your order then you will have to return the unwanted items at your expense.
