SIZING

We make shower caps for average sized heads with a capacity for long hair. However, what is average? Most customers find our shower caps and turbans fit perfectly, however some find them too large and a few occasionally find them too small. As a guide, we measured our heads as follows:

1. Around the hairline- across the forehead, below the ears and round the nape of the neck, ie where the elastic of a frill shower cap would sit.
2. Across the crown- below the ear, across the crown to below the other ear.

 

The standard sized shower caps and shower turbans are a good fit for everyone except Liz who finds the shower turban too tight. The petite sized turban also fits Alison and her teenage daughter if they were looking for a snugger fit. The petite frill style shower cap is too small for Alison and her teenage daughter as they either have a larger crown or long hair. Petite frill style shower caps are better suited to those with shorter hair as well as smaller heads. They are 6cms smaller than the standard size.

If your head measurements are smaller than those listed above, and you have short to medium length hair, we would recommend opting for a petite shower turban or petite shower cap.

If your head measurements are smaller than those listed above, but you have long hair, we would recommend opting for a petite shower turban or standard size frill style shower cap. Petite turbans are as capacious as the standard size, they just have a slightly smaller band around the forehead. You can also adjust the elastic to fit in all frill shower caps. The elastic can be accessed via a small opening in the bias channel.

The petite turban is only marginally smaller in diameter than the standard size but despite this, it does seem to fit those with smaller heads or those who prefer a snugger fit around the forehead. The band is stretchy (it is either made from a stretch lycra fabric or has an elasticated section at the back of the turban). Alison prefers the standard size because she finds it easier to slip on and off and is always in a hurry!

Please note, the turbans are not rubber swim caps; they are designed for comfort so will not feel tight (unless your head measurements are Liz’s size and above).

CAN I WASH MY HAT?

Yes! All our shower hats and drying turbans are fully washable. All designs can be washed at 30 degrees in the washing machine, although we recommend hand washing Sparkle Gold. Simply hang up to dry properly after use to keep your hat smelling fresh and looking as good as new.

SHOWER CAP MOT & SERVICE

Many of our customers have shower caps lasting well into their 10^th year! If your shower cap is looking tired and is in need of a bit of TLC we offer a shower cap MOT service. This includes replacement elastic and a gold service wash and brush up from as little as £5. If you are extremely attached to the particular fabric and the design is no longer available, we offer a total re-build of your hat starting at £15.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY ORDER?

Whilst we hold most items in stock, please allow up to 3 working days for your product to be made before it is despatched.

WILL MY ORDER COME GIFT WRAPPED?

All items are wrapped in tissue and sent with a card. If sending as a gift and you wish to include a gift message for the recipient, please add this in the gift message section during check out. Please note, many of our orders are sent as gifts and therefore we do not enclose any receipts or financial information with your product.

CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?

You may for a short period be able to cancel an order placed; please use the Contact Us page to cancel your order.  However, if you have already received an email confirming dispatch of your order then you will have to return the unwanted items at your expense.   

If you believe your goods are faulty, please return them so that we can inspect them and contact you to discuss an appropriate resolution. If the product is found to be faulty, we will contact you within 48 hours of receiving your return (excluding weekends, public holidays and bank holidays) and then process your request for a refund or replacement.

HOW DO I RETURN AN ITEM?

If for any reason you wish to return your order, for an exchange or refund (excluding P&P), you must notify us within 14 days of receiving your order. You will need to return the item at your own expense, securely packaged and in mint condition.  To initiate your return, please click here.
